Mission
The mission of the MILAN Senior Program is to offer educational
and recreational activities, to promote personal growth and
socialization, to foster feelings of achievement, companionship,
and well-being that would enhance the quality of life for people
60 years of age and older.
The Senior Program is not a day care facility for seniors; supervision
is not provided on a one to one basis.
Location
The Senior Program is held at the Clinton G. Martin Park.

What We Offer
Welcome to the MILAN Senior Center!
In order to participate in weekly activities we simply ask that you sign in at the front desk when you arrive. There is currently no fee or membership to participate in many of the programs that we offer. Refreshments are served at this program. Free Transportation is offered to residents of Town of North Hempstead only. To down load bus form, please click below:
Age Requirements:
MILAN program is open to people 60 years and older.
Participation Policy:
When you come to the Senior Center you are encouraged to:
Participate in social service, educational and recreational programs
Socialize with other participants
Obtain information for needed services
Voice ideas and concerns regarding programs
The following policies promote the enjoyable use of the Senior Center by all participants.
Treat others with courtesy and respect.
Independently maintain bodily functions and proper hygiene.
Appropriate attire to be worn by all participants (shoes, shirt).
Participants with advanced confusion/memory impairment must be accompanied by a responsible attendant. (i.e. When a particpant does not know his/her name, location of home, reason for being at the center or how to get home, etc.)
Verbal/physical harassment of senior center participants and staff, including abusive language and/or inappropriate physical contact, is NOT allowed.
* HIUS holds the right to refuse admission to the MILAN program. |
